RFE/RL’s Armenian Service has interviewed Mihran Bertizlian, a former Arabic-Turkish interpreter for Asma al-Assad, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Bertizlian took shelter in Armenia five months ago in order to ensure his family’s safety. In the interview with RFE/RL Armenian Service Director Harry Tamrazian he blamed ‘outside forces’ rather than President Bashar al-Assad for the Syrian war.
