Fifty years ago, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his historic "I Have A Dream" speech to more than 200,000 activists taking part in the March on Washington, one of the largest civil rights demonstrations in U.S. history. The march and King's speech are considered a turning point in the movement for full social and economic equality for black Americans. Ahead of the anniversary, VOA spoke with politicians who were part of the civil rights movement about their memories of King's speech and its importance for the United States.
